Kanata Theatre: the 39th season (2007-2008)

 

Audition Notice:
The Gallant Tailor or,
 Seven at One Blow

Auditions for  The Gallant Tailor  (the children's Christmas play) with music adapted and arranged by Zelma Smith and book and lyrics by  Edith Rothrock, directed by Dorothy Shaw, will be held on Monday September 3rd at 1:00 pm and Tuesday September 4th  2007 at 7:00pm, in the rehearsal hall of the Ron Maslin Playhouse. Please enter at the Stage Door at the rear of the Playhouse.

Those auditioning will be asked to sing "O Canada" or "Happy Birthday"; any other choice of song must be pre-approved by the Director.

Minimum age - 9 years
All characters must be able to sing - some dancers required.

The production will be presented on December 27th,  28th  and  29th, 2007: there will be two shows per day.
 
Solo parts:

Tailor - teenage boy
Jam woman - teenage girl
King - adult male
Princess - teenage girl
Prime Minister - teenage boy
Lady-in-waiting - teenage boy
Giants - two BIG males
Narrator - adult male or female (speaking part only)
 

Chorus:

Villagers   - males & females aged 9-adult
