Director's
Note Staff Room is the
work of Joan Burrows who has filled it
with humour and insight gained during a
30-year career as a teacher of high
school English and Dramatic Arts. It was
first performed in 2004 by The Curtain
Club, Richmond Hill, Ontario under the
direction of the playwright in a show
that was judged Best Production at the
Theatre Ontario Festival that
year. Staff Room marks only
the third time Kanata Theatre has been
the first company to perform a play
after its initial production. The second
was The Inheritancec, by Gayle
Greenslade-Lalonde in 2003. The first
was Robertson Davies' Hunting
Stuart more that 30 years ago. That
puts tonight's play in excellent
company. |
