The greatest of all French farces and perhaps the greatest farce ever written.

Modern English and French bedroom farce was born with this 1907 tale of Madame Chandebise who, suspecting her husband of having an affair, tries to entrap him by means of an anonymous love letter suggesting a rendezvous at the disreputable Frisky Puss Hotel. David Ives’s new adaptation maintains the original’s dazzling plot while communicating Feydeau’s playful use of language.
